Aerial Thermography

Infra-red thermography is a well-established Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technique used across many industries. Using this technology on drones adds a new capability to aerial inspections and expands on the existing capability of ground based thermography, allowing for in-depth inspections of structures, systems and infrastructure.

With an officially trained thermographer, working towards PCN Category 1 certification, we are capable of carrying out specialist thermographic inspections by drone. Using a trained thermographer ensures aerial thermographic surveys are carried out and reported to a nationally recognised standard. The advantages of aerial thermography over ground-based thermography include the ability to inspect difficult to reach areas, such as masts and sub stations for example, while large areas can be covered quickly.  This also allows systems to be observed at distance without isolations which may be required for manned access.

  • Building heat loss surveys
  • Roof water ingress inspections
  • Leak detection across a process plant
  • Solar park surveys (carried out to BS EN ISO 62446-1:2016)
  • Search and rescue
  • Public safety and security
  • Electrical fault finding and preventive maintenance
